What is The Place

The Place is a certified non-profit organization, created to educate and empower women who are without adequate resources and support.

The Place provides paths of stabilization, education, and empowerment. Our methods center around long term personal development and safe shelter, and our goal is for each woman to leave The Place confident in her self-worth and strength.

Safe Shelter & Personal Development

After completing intensive treatments, The Place will provide a safe community and educational programs.

A plan will be developed for each woman, individually, at the time she transitions into The Place. The Place will provide her with a calendar of activities based on her needs and capacities. Her plan will evolve as she grows and develops her skill levels, and She will jointly develop her plan with The Place Staff and revise as needed.

  • The most important qualification for admission into The Place is a true desire and willingness to better one’s self. Women at The Place are expected to use the program and all benefits provided to accomplish her needs to go back into society as a productive citizen.

  • The Place’s safe community will serve to develop healthy citizenship skills. Participation will require the women to continue any outpatient therapy, remain drug and alcohol-free, and actively participate in the programming. Each woman will be expected to seek employment and pay rent on a sliding scale based on income, as well as meet standards of housekeeping and share in community tasks. Length of stay will be individually determined.

  • The goal of the programing will be to build knowledge, self-esteem and independence. Educational programs will include personal health and wellness, financial planning and budgeting, parenting, and employment skills.
